I realized a little while ago that I have never mentioned the Allure Beauty Box on my blog before! Which is crazy because I guarantee that I have mentioned it to every person in my day to day life at least once. I’ve tried a few different beauty subscription boxes before and never subscribed for more then a month or two – until now! I love the Allure box – not only is it an amazing deal but I genuinely like the products and brands they put inside. The only downside is you can’t get it in Canada (Sorry fellow Canadians!). Anyways – rave over because this isn’t an overall Allure box review, it’s a quick look at what’s inside my January box!
They changed their packaging this month – the products used to come in a cute little red box which frankly I really liked; it was basic and didn’t leave me with a ton of packaging. However, now you get a little makeup pouch with all the products inside of a bigger packaged box. My bag this month came broken – which was a common complaint I saw this month. However, I’m not that upset about it – I kinda hate the idea of a new pouch every month. I also don’t need a new makeup bag every month – I don’t think anyone does, and it’s such a huge waste of plastic. But alas…
This months box was valued at $140 and came with 7 items. The items I got were; Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub, NCLA Nail polish, Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask, Doucce Relentless Matte Lip Crayon in Winterberry, Mally Eyeshadow Stick Extra in Burnished Bronze, Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum, and a Sunday Riley CEO Glow Face Oil. 4/7 of these products are full sized, and the C.E.O GLOW Oil is an early access product that hasn’t been released yet.
From the get-go, I can tell you I will not be keeping the nail polish or the lip crayon. I actually really dislike makeup in beauty boxes because often the “universal shades” aren’t universal and they are things I don’t want or need. For these two products, the shades just don’t suit me. I am excited to give the eyeshadow stick a try though, it’s a nice bronzy shade and I do love creme eye products! I’m most excited to try the Sunday Riley CEO oil – it’s a vitamin C & turmeric oil meant to help brighten and help with hyperpigmentation. I struggle with acne so this oil sounds like it good be a good fit for me! I’m also super excited to try the Ouai scrub, as I’ve heard amazing things about it and I’ve never tried a scalp scrub.
