Winter Favourites 2018

A little round up of all the things I’ve been loving this past couple of cold months! This month I’ve taken out Netflix favourites and replaced it with Youtube – as its #Vlogmas and a few of my favourite YouTubers have been uploading every day! I’ve also included book favourites, as I haven’t gotten around to doing a book review post in a while. So without further ado, my 2018 Winter Favourites.

Ex : Re / Ex : Re

The debut solo album from the lead singer Elena of my favourite band Daughter. Its only been out for a couple of weeks, but I’m already obsessed. It has the same feel as some of the earlier Daughter stuff, so if you were a fan before you’ll like this!

Kill Your Darlings / Elsa & Emilie

An old favourite that I’ve gotten back into recently. Something about the dark winter days always has me in a moody song kinda mood.

The Illuminae File Series

I’ve recently read this series by Amie Kaufman- and I really loved them! It was such an interesting format for a book series, and although at times I found it a little distracting from the actual plot of the book it was definitely a necessary evil. I’ve never seen a book like this before and I actually really loved the plot as well. The books look intimidating at first (they are HUGE) but each book itself only took me a couple nap times (~ 6 hrs) to finish. If you like science fiction you’ll love these!

Station Eleven

This was such a good read! I love a good post-apocalyptic world book! Its switched seamlessly between points of view and back and forth between time. Another must read for you if you love science fiction.

I’ve followed her blog forever, but only recently followed her on Instagram. I love her photos – the lighting is always amazing and she’s incredible at getting the layout of her shots just right.

As always, I’m still obsessed with @polly.florence – she just nails her photography every time. Seamlessly switching between seasonally inspired photos while still keeping her overall theme. I could talk none stop about this new trend of prioritizing theme over individual photo quality and Polly sacrifices neither with her photos.

Grace Denny

I’ve been watching Grace for almost half a year now. She always has a smile on her face and a cup of tea in her hand. She has such a fun and positive outlook on everything and her videos never fail to put a smile on my face.

Antonette is an NYC vlogger who has such an amazing eye for shots and editing – all her videos have such an incredible aesthetic to them. She always has amazing holiday filmed videos, and I love her “Routine” videos!

Power Hour

I’ve talked about Adrienne (@adrienne_ldn) on my blog before. I find her so inspiring and really motivating. I was so excited when she announced that she was launching her own podcast. Its all about the healthy habits that successful people have and it’s full of inspiration!

Imagined Life

Recently I spent a good few hours on a plane and these were so amazing to listen to. They are 45 minute long stories about famous individuals told in the first person, but the twist is that you don’t know who it is until the story is finished (or just before). I’ve cried, laughed, and genuinely loved listening to this podcast. Its so different than any other podcast I’ve seen, and very much worth a listen. I’d like to add that the ads during the podcast are SO annoying, they break right during a dramatic part of the story and totally ruin the flow of the podcast. But alas – I understand this is how they keep running and they are easy enough to skip over.

What have you been loving this month?
