“You can do hard things.”
On the surface this quote seems basic, but it is so motivating for me. You can do anything, yes it may be hard, but you can do it. I do my best to instil this concept into the children I nanny, and I am always reminding myself of this when I need a little motivation.
“If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.”Lemony Snicket
If you wait until you feel ready, or wait until you feel its the right time you might never do what you want to be doing. Now is the right time – if you want to do something do it & if you need to deal with something – deal with it now.
“Feel the fear and do it anyway.”Susan Jeffers
“Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyways.”Glennon Doyle Melton
I feel a lot of fear sometimes; fear of saying the wrong thing, fear of making the wrong decision, fear of sharing too much, etc… But I make sure that fear doesn’t control me. If I let my fear control me I would probably never leave my house. So feel it, but don’t let it stop you.
“I’m beginning to recognize that real happiness isn’t something large and looming on the horizon ahead, but something small, numerous and already here. The smile of someone you love. A decent breakfast. The warm sunset. Your little everyday joys all lined up in a row.”Beau Taplin
“Joy comes to us in moments—ordinary moments.”Brené Brown
Finding the joy in the little “mundane” things has been huge for me. Allowing myself to find happiness in a hot cup of coffee or the first breeze that smells like fall has changed days from bad to good. Its so easy to let the little things ruin days, but they can make them too.
“Spend your free time the way you like, not the way you think you’re supposed to.”Susan Cain
This quote from my favourite non-fiction book, Quiet. This book (and this quote) changed my life and changed how I viewed myself and my introversion. Allowing me to create deeper relationships by spending my free time alone recharging without feeling guilty.
